There are currently three types of electric vehicle chargers to choose from: level one, level two, and level three.  Each level provides an increasingly faster charging experience.  

• Level one chargers plug into a standard wall outlet (120v), and often come with the vehicle at purchase.  This is the slowest charging option, often taking up to 24 hours to recharge the typical car battery.
• Level two chargers take a significant leap ahead of level one EV Chargers in terms of capability.  Level two EV chargers reduce the charging time down to 4-5 hours. These are the most popular for home charging.  Because they often require a slight adjustment to your home’s electrical system, such as installing a dedicated circuit and outlet, you’ll want to consult a licensed electrician.
• Level three chargers are known as DC Fast Chargers, and are capable of charging a battery in as little as 30-60 minutes.  These are often found in public locations such as highway rest stops.
